Planning for the final task: sound script & shooting script

Sound & Dialogue script:

Scene 1: 

*Only diegetic sound of cereal being made* 

No dialogue. 


Scene 2:  

*Indigo’s phone starts ringing* 


Scene 3:  

*Her phone rings for the 2nd time* 


Scene 4 

Indigo: “ Hello?” 

Jodi: “Hey girl! I’ve been trying to reach you for the longest! I was wondering if you wanted to go to the kickback at Naomi’s tonight?” 


Scene 5: 

*No dialogue* 


Scene 6: 

Indigo: "Jodi…."


Scene 7: 

Jodi: “PLEASE! You never come out with us anymore.. ” 


Scene 8: 

No dialogue. 


Scene 9: 

Indigo: “ I know…” 


Scene 10: 

Jodi: “…you have other friends! It’s not fair to us!" 


Scene 11:  

Jodi: “I know things aren’t the same after the…uh accident….” 


Scene 12: 

No dialogue. 


Scene 13:  

Indigo: “The… the accident.. Yeah…” 

 

Shooting script:

Scene 1: 

●Long shot of Indigo finishing making cereal in the kitchen. 

●Pan of Indigo putting the cereal box back in its place and the milk into the refrigerator. 


Scene 2: 

●Medium shot as Indigo sits at the island. 

●She ignores the phone and takes a bite of her cereal. 

●Diegetic sound of the phone ringing and clanking of spoon in the bowl in the cereal bowl. 

●Low-key lighting. 


Scene 3: 

●Eyeline match of Indigo looking at the phone before picking it up. 

●Tilt of Indigo finally answering the phone.   

●Close up of Indigo to show the clear irritation on her face. 


Scene 4: 

●Indigo has stopped eating the cereal and clears her throat before saying hello. 

●She starts getting up to go to her room. 

●Reverse shot of Jodi on the other side of the line. 

●Jodi is listening to music softly. 

●High key lighting where Jodi is. 

●Long shot of Jodi’s room. 

●She has the phone on the speaker as she does things around her room (looking around in her closet). 


Scene 5:  

●Cuts back to indigo. 

●Medium shot as she is entering her room and sitting down on the bed. 

●Low-key lighting. 


Scene 6:  

●Low-key lighting 

●Indigo has a shaky voice as she says Jodi’s name w/ hesitation. 


Scene 7: 

●Reverse shot of Jodi on the other side of the line. 

●She stops walking around and sits on the bed, now getting serious. 

●High-key lighting. 


Scene 8: 

●Indigo grabs the picture of her and Nia off of her nightstand.  

●(high angle) 

●Low-key lighting. 


Scene 9: 

●Indigo is looking at the picture as she talks on the phone with a sad tone. 

● (over the shoulder shot) 

●She rubs her hand over the picture. 


Scene 10: 

●Reverse shot of Jodi replying to Indigo 

●High key lighting.  

●Her tone is now irritated. 

●She sits on the bed. (Shown with a low angle.) 


Scene 11:  

●Jodi continues talking (guilt tripping Indigo.) 

●Can still hear the light music playing in the background. 


Scene 12: 

●High pitched scream from Nia-> the girl who died. (not shown) 

● (blacked out screen) 

●This is a flash back for Indigo. 


Scene 13:  

●She throws the picture away from her because she’s spooked. 

●Now becoming nervous because of her guilt. 

●Indigo clears her throat and replies with a shaky voice. 


[End of the opening sequence.]

Editing is not my absolute favorite part of filmmaking as of now. I only say this because I'm not very good at it yet and that bothers me. Finding props for the final task

 My next task is to find props for the final task. The main thing I had to get was a few photo copies from my local Walgreens. Minor things I had to get were cereal boxes, picture frames, etc. As for the photo copies, there was a bit of difficulty finding a place to print them. Before I learned that I could print them at a convenience store, I had no idea where to go. First, I tried printing them at my house. But, on regular printer paper. This was a total fail. My printer barely had any colored ink and the picture came out black and white. It also came out with very low quality and very pixelated. So, I had to do a bit of searching on the internet. I needed to find out where I could get the best quality pictures for a low price. I went on a few websites, but all of the pricing was too high. Then i went looking in my local area.  Hello to anyone out there reading this. My name is Taelor Barnes and I am a 16 year old. I have an older sister and a dog that has grew up with me since my parents first got her when I was 6. Academically, I am in the eleventh grade at Fort Lauderdale high school. Since ninth grade I have been waiting to take this class; it is one of the most intriguing courses I've heard about and discussed with my guidance counselor. Many of my friends have taken it in prior to the 2020/2021 school year and they have only had good things to say about it.
