CCR: The Truth Untold

Below is the CCR for my final task. In this video, I've taken serious self assessment and reflection and given my honest opinions. While I wish I could've spoken longer/more thoroughly (and have formulated my words better), I hope you enjoy my CCR.

Planning Storyboard for my Eyelash Commercial

Image
First Scene: This scene will show my distaste for appearance. This will be shot in my bathroom from one angle. I will be standing up in front of my bathroom mirror, looking at myself. I will have my outfit and makeup on. Ill say something along the lines of, "I look like I'm missing something." I've noted that in some of the commercials I've watched, the model is always in their bathroom doing their makeup. Second Scene: In this scene, I will still be in my bathroom, but I will be shooting from a different angle. This time I will be sitting down. I'll say, "My hair, makeup, and outfit looks good, What could it be?" And then, *gasp* "I know exactly what it is..." *grabs keys*. Third Scene: This scene will just consist of  my mother filming me walking inside the Beauty Supply store. I'll have her do a pan to me walking. Fourth Scene: This will be me walking out of the store with a bag in my hand (clearly excited.) My mom will film me aga...

My Commercial

Image
This was my first ever major project that I've put together. It was a fun and rewarding experience to see my eyelash commercial start from just an idea in my head to actually filming and editing it. I truly loved the concept of actually finishing something and being proud of it in the end. The process of storyboarding was probably one of my favorite parts in this entire project. I have never actually put my ideas on paper before trying to convey it to others. I can say that storyboard really took away some of my indecisiveness and it was one less thing I had to worry about because I filmed everything based off of it. Although I can look back a see some things I could have done better, I am content with what I've done. I've certainly learned that patience is key in the producing process. When I first came up with my concept for my eyelash commercial, I initially had the idea to use one of my family members as my subject. However, when I realized that my overbearing side woul...

Letting my peers review my opening sequence

Image
So, after completely finishing filming and editing my video, I've let my peer review it. I've had peers that are in the class review it, as well as my family. After hearing their thoughts on the video, I then tweaked my final product a bit. Between everyone whose watched the video, I've had mixed reviews. Let’s start with my mother. While my mother has no bad things to say about the opening, others had a few critiques. My mother has no real knowledge on what to look for in the sequence, so this was expected. But, she was helpful in letting me know if the video flowed nicely. Others in my family also let me know if the opening flowed well. They are real movie watchers so they somewhat knew what to look for in an opening. They let me know that what I’d had was well put after a few tweaks. After I let my family view the opening, I then let my peers view it. Most of them being in media studies with me. Because they have knowledge of what the video is supposed to look like, the...
