Finding music for the final task

Image
Next, I have to find royalty free music.  I haven’t made up my mind on what song I want to integrate through the opening scene. However, I found some websites to help me. One of them being  https://www.epidemicsound.com/?_us=adwords&_usx=9597410575_royalty%20free%20music&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0caCBhCIARIsAGAfuMwzRmhTRo7OMbLB9SMbUUl8WazfK0rvU0kj_tJPk_PI4L4OeD2Vw08aAvaIEALw_wcB  . This website is only for people subscribed to it for a fee. But, it does have a 30-day free trial. If I start the trial when I begin editing, I will have enough time to use this software. The next website I stumbled upon is  https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/2  . This website is also mostly for subscribers. However, they do have a selection of free sounds/music. They have a plethora of options to choose from and I think this website will be very helpful. The next website I’m looking into is  https://www.silvermansound.com/free-music/depth-of-focus  . This websit...

Working out camera movements for the final task

Image
My next task is to make sure I will be able to completely fulfill the camera movement requirements for the final task. To do this, I will be using what I have ordered some things online to help me better film. As previously stated, I have ordered two tripods. A tall tripod and a hand held one.  I desperately needed the tall tripod for the final task as well as for my personal use. I will use the hand held tripod for the pans and tilts. If need be, I will add in other camera movements in my opening sequence. The tall tripod will be used for the camera movements that cannot be captured by the handheld tripod. Or for the details that my shaky hands can’t capture. This way, all my shots/movements will be steady and clear. Unless it is purposeful, I don’t want any of my movements to be handheld or shaky. In the final task a pan will be used to focus on the main character or what ever scenic shot I want to capture. While, the tilt will be used to look up or look down at the support...

Finding props for the final task

Image
My next task is to find props for the final task. The main thing I had to get was a few photo copies from my local Walgreens. Minor things I had to get were cereal boxes, picture frames, etc. As for the photo copies, there was a bit of difficulty finding a place to print them. Before I learned that I could print them at a convenience store, I had no idea where to go. First, I tried printing them at my house. But, on regular printer paper. This was a total fail. My printer barely had any colored ink and the picture came out black and white. It also came out with very low quality and very pixelated. So, I had to do a bit of searching on the internet. I needed to find out where I could get the best quality pictures for a low price. I went on a few websites, but all of the pricing was too high. Then i went looking in my local area. That’s when I found out that a store not too far away from my house. They had exactly what I needed for the final task. I found everything I was looking fo...

Working out camera angles for the final task

Image
My next task is to make sure I will be able to completely fulfill the camera angles requirements for the final task. To do this, I have ordered some things online to help me better film. I have ordered two tripods. A tall tripod and a hand held one. The tall one will be used to get all the high angle shots. I desperately needed the tall tripod for the final task as well as for my personal use. I will use the hand held tripod for the close-ups, extreme close ups, etc. Basically for all the things that the tall tripod cannot capture. Or for the details that my shakes hands can’t capture. This way, all my shots will be steady and clear. Unless it is purposeful, I don’t want any of my shots to be handheld or shaky. In the final task a high angle will be used to look down on the main character. While, the low angle will be used to look up at the supporting character. There might be some instances were this will be vice versa. While filming I will be trying out different angles for diff...

Preparing the location for filming

Image
Next, I have prepared my final task for filming. As, previously stated, I will be filming my final task within my house. I will be filming in multiple parts of my house. So I will need to prepare the entire house. First, I cleaned my room. I wiped down all of the surfaces in my room. I washed and changed my sheets. I hung up all of my clothes. I sanitized all the objects in my room and I mopped and swept my floors. Next was the guest room. I repeated the same process. I sanitized everything in the room. I mopped and swept the floors. I washed and changed the sheets. And lastly, I wiped down all objects in the room. After the guest room was the kitchen/living room. I washed all of the dishes and wiped down all surfaces in the kitchen. Then I moved to the living room and sanitized the surfaces first. Then I mopped and swept the floors. I did all of this for safety and health precautions. On the day that I film I want to make sure everything is in order so I started cleaning a few weeks b...

Sorting out actors/actresses for the final task

Image
As of right now, my actors for the final task are not set in stone. There are many things that have to be done before they can come to my house to film. Also I will have to be working around my family's/friends' schedules. As of now, during this pandemic, everyone has been very busy and may not have the time to indulge in my studies. My friends that I’ve initially picked to be in my movie may not be my final casting. They have a lot of work to do and so do I. We are all honors students and some times we just do not have free time to interact with each other. We all have homework to do for other classes. As well as having to spending time with our families, which is our main priority. Also due to the restrictions of the pandemic, we have to be ten times more careful. We must quarantine to make sure all of us are negative for Covid-19. We are very family oriented too. So we won’t ever hang out if there’s a chance for them to be effected by our actions. We have older members of ou...

Planning for the final task: storyboard

Image
Storyboarding will be beneficial in the long run. When it is time to film and edit, I will have some expectation of how to film (movements, angles, etc.) and where each scene will take place. Storyboarding also gives me some idea of where I will put my titles. It shows me where titles will be seen the best in terms of lighting and setting. See you in the next one!

Planning for the final task: title design

Image
Working Title: The title of this film will most likely be “The Truth Will Set You Free.”  This title may or may not change overtime. All titles will be dainty but bold enough to attract attention to them.  It will be in bold faced cursive font (Modern Love). It is not available on blogger as of right now.  The titles will be “written” onto the screen as if someone had handwritten it. All titles will disappear after 2-3 seconds with a fade.   The opening credits of my film will appear in a cursive handwritten font that appear to be “written” into the right corner of the screen.   All credits will be inserted w/ this format and no titles will be embedded in the setting.   All titles will be written in either full black or full white, depending on the scene. There will also be some spacing between the letters.  The letter will be of significant sizing so that the titles are noticed. But, they will not be too big to the point where it takes away from the o...
